To make a reservation please email smotto64@gmail.com or text us on 0432 040 751.
For peak times a deposit is required to secure your site., otherwise we are happy with payment on arrival. We accept credit card payments, cash or bank transfers.
Question: How far in advance do I have to book for public holidays?
We recommend booking as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. Bookings can be made up to 6 months in advance.
Question: What time is check in and check out?
The check in time is between 2.00 pm and 6.00 pm, with check out 11 am.
As we are a small campground with people checking in and out of the same sites each day, we need to have time to mow and clean up in between campers.
We require all campers to stop at stop sign once through the rainforest and give either Sharon or Glenn a call so show you your camp site.
Question: What are office hours?
Our office is open from 9.00 AM to 12.00 PM and 2.00 PM to 6.00 PM.
Email or text is the best way to get in touch with us. As we are a working farm, we spend most of our day outside and not at the computer!
Question: Is Hidden Valley Dog Friendly?
Yes, at this stage we are still dog friendly, however we take other people’s concerns and complaints seriously.
We cap dog numbers. Campers without dogs are given preference.
Our dog policy is that ALL dogs are to be on a leash at ALL times. This also ensures our wildlife continues to visit.
Yes, this means your dog, however big or small or however well you believe your dog’s behaviour is.
It is unfair on other campers who do not share your passion for dogs who have to have them running through their camp.
It is also unfair on other campers who do the right thing with their dogs only to have other dogs running free often causing their dogs to be stirred up or wanting to run off and join in.
It is also your responsibility to pick up after your dog EVERY time.
We are in the bush, Please have your pets tick protected.
We hope these latest requests are taken on board and we can continue to welcome dog lovers to Hidden Valley. Your co-operation is very much appreciated.
Question: Can I have a camp fire?
Camp fires are permitted in existing fire pits only.
Fires are not to be left unattended and must be extinguished prior to going to bed and / or leaving your camp site.
Seasoned hardwood can be purchased from the office and kindling can be collected along the edge of the rainforest.
You are welcome to bring your own wood, but no treated wood or any wood with nails or screws in it. We cannot have nails and screw on the farm, it causes havoc with machinery and tyres and then we have to deal with the contaminated ash.
Question: Do you sell Firewood?
Yes. We sell seasoned hardwood by the crate. 20kg+ for $15. All wood is sustainably sourced from storm damaged trees on the farm, or trees that have been felled for campers’ safety.
A bag of kindling is $10
Please DO NOT split wood on our pavers, concrete fire pit areas, retainer walls.
We do not allow chainsaws.
Question: Is there a Noise Curfew?
We are a quiet park, so no parties unless you are booking the entire camp ground. No noise after 10.00 pm.
Question: How far away is the nearest town?
The campground is situated 3.6 km away from Yandina which offers an IGA Supermarket, fuel station, cafes, bakery, butcher, a pub, hardware, Post Office and several local craft/gift shops.
Question: Can I have visitors while camping?
If you are booked in for 1 or 2 nights only then no guests allowed. You can meet your friends off farm. Otherwise day visitor fees are applicable.
For longer stays, please discuss with us before inviting friends on our property. We are happy to for you to have friends or family for short visits, but it does put pressure on our amenities, such as water in dry times, or traffic on ground when wet. If friends are visiting for a whole day there will be a day pass fee.
During busy periods no visitors allowed.
Question: Can we use generators?
No. Our park is a peaceful sanctuary and we like to keep noise disruption to a minimum. If you require power, please book a powered site – some of which are out in the fields so you will still get the proper bush camping experience.
Question: Water hook ups?
We don’t hook up to water as we are on tank water only, but if you are staying for several days we will be happy to top up your tanks.
Question: Are there any swimming spots on your property?
No. We have dry creek beds which only run during heavy rain and flooding. Our billabong has eels and not suitable for swimming.
Question: Can we use drones?
Simply, NO. It upsets our dog Thea, and upsets other campers and neighbouring properties.
No unannounced visitors
We are a working farm, not a caravan park, and as such, we can’t have people dropping in to check out the place.
If you would like to camp on our beautiful property, book in and you will be able to enjoy our little piece of rainforest on the Sunshine Coast, otherwise there are plenty of photos on our website and facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/gromadplantations) showing what the farm looks like.
So please don’t be offended when you call from the gate wanting to have a look around, to be told we are a private property. This is also for the safety and security of our campers.
